ROCK YOUR SHAPE – Uniquely Savvy Workshop
I had the great pleasure of being a member in the same chapter of BNI with Kim Peterson. My job is running after animals, running errands and getting the organization up and running. I didn’t really think I needed a “professional” wardrobe as such. But getting to know Kim and listening to her speak of what she does, I began to realize that she was talking about reflecting the inner you with the outer you.
As a woman who is only 5 ft tall and not of a delicate build, I abhor shopping. And my clothes reflected it, I had lots of clothing that didn’t make me feel great. So when Kim came back to visit, we had a little chat and she invited me to a workshop. I thought she really sees me and she really does champion me and others. So I signed up and in my email I received some thought provoking questions. I also looked for clothing I thought I would like and would look good on me.
The day of the workshop, I came with my questionnaire and my examples and was greeted by her beautiful smile and she introduced me to the other participants. It was such a safe and fun environment. By the end of the workshop, all of us understood what worked, what didn’t. We were able to pick through more images of clothing that Kim brought with her and with our new found knowledge we were able to pick out clothing that really worked for us.
The best news? I was excited to go shopping. And when I did, I was pretty happy. Now that is life changing!
