An insightful takeaway?
Jealous/envy is a form of zeal.
The jealous energy inside of you/me just needs to be re-channeled into a zealous energy for YOU…to get after your untapped potential. She said that we may look at another woman and envy what she has, does, looks like, etc…as she did (read the original post below)…and even be smiley to her face, but seethe inside about her and even talk bad about her behind her back….until she got off the sidelines and started tappin’ into her #identity, skills and talents….and got to work to CREATE what she wanted. She had untapped potential that she wasn’t taking ownership of and that led to jealousy and envy.
If this is you, what can you get ZEALOUS about in you? What desires do you have that if you choose….TODAY could be your day to kick that soul toxicity to the curb and say YES to unveiling all the juicy fabulousness that YOU are…that YOU posses…that YOU can lead with….so that you can truly stay in your own lane and rise in your strengths…and not allow the negativity to keep you in your own struggle?
I remember a time about 5 years ago when I was (for a period) feeling beat down – life, etc. A “good” friend of mine was experiencing the fruit of her hard work, sacrifice and expertise…everywhere!!! I remember looking at a highlight of hers, something to CELEBRATE…but I felt my lip quiver, my mindset was wrong – I felt it. Immediately I felt it and I knew it was jealousy. “Why does she get to _______ and I don’t.” “I’ve worked hard, who does she think she is?” I remember it like yesterday.
Really? ….Actually, who is she NOT to be brilliant, talented, gorgeous and experiencing the pay off?
Though that wasn’t “my time” – I knew the feeling immediately. Within a week’s time I say how it was corroding my heart, vision and ability to BE.
I had a choice to make – and though I have only mentioned this 2 or 3 times now, I had to admit this was MY problem. It was a problem I had with myself…and had absolutely nothing to do with any…other…woman…or person.
It was then, I decided once and for all to take full responsibility for what I wanted in my life…….and CREATE…the steps to make it manifest.
I could not afford that kind of toxicity – not for the health of myself, not for others whether in business and in life. Wasn’t easy at first, but I stayed consciously connected to my “reactions” and went to work on ME.
Kathei McCoy? She put words to your story and mine – whether on the giving or receiving end of jealousy/envy and articulated boldly what it was.
She did it by saying she was 2 – faced to other women in life…until she turned her jealous into zealous. THAT was BOLD…and chain breaking, yeah? AND….it gave her new life, new purpose…new meaning!!!
…I say, let jealousy and envy be a gift to us – prod us as truth tellers/mirror holders…to get after what we really want to be, do, have, yeah?
This is a game-changer for us, someone you know….to impart to our children and in our communities. Can you imagine if at a young age we were taught such things about jealousy and anger? Therapists might have less work, lol….but imagine our heart health, soul health. Imagine the accelerated transformation that we could really have…so that we could get on with living out our “supreme purpose” (givin’ credit where it’s due re supreme purpose – Susan Creighton).
Ladies, for those who have ears…let them hear.
Where there is darkness, there cannot be light.
