Unearthing The Real Me

Cultivating a healthy sense of identity and self-esteem is tricky business. I had an especially difficult set of circumstances growing up as an adoptee in a trans-racial family.
I've been asked to bring my story to help raise awareness, encourage and equip adoptive parents and their families. The topic: My journey of the adopted self in a trans-racial family~ my fragmented identity, the challenges and pain, the healing and the hope that took me from fear to freedom.

Back by popular demand, the Young Professionals International Network (YPIN) will host its 5th annual International Women’s Day Speed Mentorship event. Mentees will rotate through mini 7-minute tailored mentorship sessions with the Northwest’s top female leaders.

This event is perfect for early career women seeking to enhance their leadership potential, or mid-career professionals looking to make a career change or accelerate their current trajectory. You will be exposed to new businesses, vocations, and opportunities, and have the chance to network with all mentors and mentees in addition to one-on-one conversations with a handful of mentors selected just for you.

"Discovering Your Essence"

This engaging and informative workshop is to support the young ladies of the STEAM program in shaping a healthy sense of identity and developing their voice so they can continue to build a solid foundation of sustainable confidence and lead with their strengths from the inside-out.

The problem is that young girls are often bombarded with messages from the media and otherwise, that tell them they need to look a certain way, act a certain way and BE a certain way in order to be seen as beautiful, smart or successful. When young gals are given the opportunity to pause to consciously connect to the #truth and uniqueness of who they are; they can begin to celebrate their natural strengths, skills, and talents, personality, shape and so much more….They can also begin to stop comparing
themselves to others and gain the confidence to both celebrate themselves and others who are different than them!
